Task Based Invoicing

The economy has changed over the past 15 years, regular employees being hard to find despite over 100 million people having gone through a college program that are currently working. Nearly 35% of the US 200 million workers are independent workers, what was traditionally 1099.

PSI is founded on the concept that most jobs consist of daily task lists and several due dates throughout the year, month, or done on weekly intervals. Most college graduates realize this, and came to the conclusion that a lot of time spent at work is on non-work related tasks like staring at the wall, hanging out by the water cooler on extended breaks, or browsing e-commerce or social media for non-work related reasons like planning time off from work.

Many traditional business have trouble understanding this new work dynamic that goes beyond "its so hard to find good help these days" to "theres not any workers available at all, what happened to all the college graduates".

Modern businesses based on indepent workers and distributed teams, can have trouble understanding how to grow a business beyond setting up teams and sending out invoices. This is despite having access to virtual assistants, and digital resources from day 1, including simplified bookkeeping, payroll, ach ach access, and a plethora of listings with work that needs to be done to high quality standards.

With traditional businesses unfamiliar with independent workers and distributed teams, and modern businesses uncomfortable with hiring employees; economic bottlenecks can happen really fast. There is also the requirement to standardize business concepts and vocabularies for what are mostly professional environments.

Terms to know when hiring servicers are scope of services, estimates, quote, agreement - service or business, requirements verification or line item verification, and payment.

There is often professional liabilities, such as errors and omissions, warranties, guarantees, and implied liability in addition to business ethics and professional conduct. This can resemble workplace policies found in an employee handbook, however employee handbook policies rarely apply to servicers even if some of the required professional behaviors can seem similar.

Professional Services Integrations helps tie all this together, and goes beyond technology implementation and list of books for overview of the new work dynamic. Most often, a 1099 will be issued for a DBA, S-Corp, or LLC and we take a similar approach. See our services page for more info.
